 Monte Parker, also known as Doc, is a paramedic on the FDNY. Doc has been doing this for many years. Like Sullivan, he has to show the new guy, Carlos, how things work in the FDNY. Doc who was widowed seven years ago, and used to date Dr. Morales, a doctor from Angel of Mercy's ER, someone who Carlos has had his eye on. Doc and Dr. Morales eventually got engaged, and then Dr. Morales was offered a new position in Chicago. Doc couldn't leave NYC behind because he had lived there his whole life, so he and Dr. Morales broke up. Doc and Carlos don't often agree on the same things, this can sometimes lead to trouble, but Doc does the best he can to keep things under control. Doc, tends to get involved in his patient's lives after he helps them, something Carlos doesn't agree with. Doc just wants to help people the best he can. This is why he is always up for the best paramedic awards. This got him on a paramedic show where they rode around with him all day and filmed. One thing got caught on film was this bad accident scene. There was a kid who hurt his neck so of course they put a C collar on. The kid also needed a breathing tube and it wouldn't fit down the airway with the collar. Doc kept telling Kim to take the collar off but she refused because one the collar is on you're not supposed top take it off. Doc took a risk and took it off in order to get the tube in so the kid could breathe. Everyone praised Doc because he saved the kid's life, including the kid's father. It turned out that the kid was paralyzed and it could've been caused because Doc took the C collar off. The news got around and one of Doc's friends, Jerry -who used to be a paramedic but now works for a lawyer- told Doc there could be a lawsuit. Doc worked with him to get it dropped and eventually it was because the kid was regaining function. The tape of the accident scene was never used on TV. It was destroyed.
